7 people pledged to invest in September, raising an extra £10,500 in potential capital for our first hydro electric scheme. This is the most we have seen in a month, bringing the current total to £48,000 from 49 people.
This increased interest in investing in local community owned hydro power is perfectly timed. The planning applications for both the Jordan Dam and Kelham Island schemes are about to be submitted. Behind the schemes, work on a big grant funding bid is at a key stage. Sheffield’s successful development of its first community owned renewable energy scheme depends on new people continuing to show an interest in the approaching public share offer.
Anyone that is wanting to pledge can do so via this form. Those interested in spending a bit of time being part of Sheffield Renewables’ first public share offer should email firstname.lastname@example.org
