Partner With Us

We are always looking for people to partner with us on new schemes. Although historically we have focused on solar power panels we are open to discussing opportunities around any form of renewable energy.

The most common way of partnering with us is to lease us roof space to install solar panels and we will provide you with the electricity at a discount. We have an established record of developing and delivering reliable and easy-to-maintain solar photovoltaic panel projects with a range of partners and building types.

We will:

Assess the viability of the scheme
Raise capital to fund the scheme
Own and manage the solar installation

You will benefit from:

Reducing your reliance on fossil fuels
Contributing to a low carbon city
Solar electricity at a cost below the market rate

The community will benefit from:

1.5% of profits raised from the scheme
which will go to the community benefit fund

A modest return on investment will be paid to our investors. All further profits will be re-invested in further schemes and the community benefit fund.

With the end of the Feed in Tariffs the economics of these schemes are tighter, but we are keen to investigate future sites. Generally speaking we are looking for:

  • Roof space of 200sq.m or larger
  • Users with a high daytime electricity load
  • Organisations with strong community and social links such as community organisations, schools, children’s centres and social housing.

“Community energy brings so many benefits to a local area. As well as generating renewable energy, it reduces CO2 emissions, provides ethical routes for local investors, generates revenue in the local economy and develops skills. It’s great to see community energy growing across Sheffield City Region through the work of Sheffield Renewables. It is more important than ever to support individuals and organisations in taking greater control over how energy is generated as well as how to manage energy usage. Projects like the ones that Sheffield Renewables (are) is developing will be vital in achieving this.”

Emma Bridge, Chief Executive of Community Energy England.

If you are interested please get in touch. Following your enquiry we will:
Assess the roof’s size, structural integrity and any potential problems with shading.

  1. Check the building ownership.
  2. Assess building electricity usage.
  3. Set up a rental and power purchase agreement with the building owner and check for planning restrictions.
  4. Arrange for installers to install the solar panels.
  5. Start generating low cost clean energy!

There may be reasons why a scheme at your location does not work for us. If this is the case we will explain why and whether there are opportunities for your to pursue renewable energy installations funded by yourselves.
