What better way to celebrate a sunny weekend in June than installing some new Community Solar in Sheffield!

June 11th saw 12 kWp of Sheffield Renewables funded Solar PV installed on the Common House at Five Rivers Co-housing, a volunteer led group building 22 housing units. The Common House will support communal living, powering the air source heat pump, laundry, communal kitchen and guest rooms. The site has a fabulous panoramic views of the Loxley Valley and on an east-west roof we hope to generate around 9,500 kw/h per year.

The project is supported by the Ecology Building Society and developed by Oakworth Construction. Huge credit to our tireless operations supremo Dave Berry in partnering with the team at Fiver Rivers to help drive this project forward. Also thank you to our installers at Homeco – who we understand had to take a break during the job because of the heat!

This is a truly unique and exciting project that all the Sheffield Renewables team are delighted has come to life. This site is well on the way to completion and due to be open before the end of the year.
