Investing in Sheffield Renewables

Our projects are funded by raising share capital from people in the community. Our shares are offered as a social investment for public spirited and environmentally aware individuals and organisations. The aim is to provide an attractive ethical investment opportunity.

We do not currently have a share offer live, but an overview of our last share offers appears below.  This may change for future offerings.

  • Individuals can invest anything from £100 to £20,000
  • We aim to pay a modest rate of interest of 3% beginning 3 years after a project begins operating.
  • Beginning in year 3, we usually pay 10% of our revenue into a Community Benefit Fund, with members able to dictate how this is spent.

As of 2025 we have distributed over £31,000 with our community benefit fund to local and international environmental and social causes, repaid over £128,000 of capital and paid over £35,000 of interest to our members.

Our last share offer closed early, having raised the required amount within 2 weeks. So, if you are interested in investing in us in future it is worth signing up to our newsletter to get early information on any future opportunities. You can sign up here…

What are the risks?
As with all investments, there is a degree of risk. Interest payments and withdrawals are dependent on scheme performance. All risks will be laid out in the Share Offer document when our next opportunity for investing is released.

“Investing in Sheffield Renewables is about more than financial returns, it is also about putting something back into our city and contributing to a more sustainable future.”

Chris Broome, Sheffield Renewables shareholder.
