Julia is a Postgraduate Researcher in the Mechanical Engineering department at The University of Sheffield, working towards her PhD. She is part of the University’s Tribology Research Group, her research looks at environmentally friendly lubricants for automotive engines. She completed a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering. Prior to University she had a varied career, including as an apprentice mechanic at BMW.

Julia starting volunteering with Sheffield Renewables in 2012 helping with the launch and running of the Share Offer and general office admin. She currently helps develop our solar projects, mainly with the technical, financial and lease aspects of the projects. She also managed and co-wrote Sheffield City Council’s Revised Renewable Energy Feasibility Study on behalf of Sheffield Renewables. She joined the board in 2014.
